I'm in a foul mood.
I did a personality test the other day and apparently, I’m a mixture of two personalities, Choleric Melancholic. It sounds disgusting and complicated but I really do think that that personality test was dead accurate. According to this little website (I don’t know if you’ve heard of it) called Wikipedia, there are four personalities or temperaments known as Sanguine, Choleric, Melancholic and Phlegmatic. Sounds disgusting, no? Each personality type has its corresponding season and element. Since I am choleric melancholic, I think I’ll explain just that. I am utterly and hopelessly self-centered if you haven’t noticed (:
CHOLERIC
• Fluid: Bile
• Season: Summer (dry and hot)
• Element: Fire
• A doer and a leader
• A lot of ambition, energy and passion
• Tries to instill the previous in people
• Apt at dominating people of other temperaments (especially phlegmatic)
• Easily angered and are bad-tempered
• Predominant in many charismatic military and political figures
MELANCHOLIC
• Fluid: Black Bile
• Season: Fall/Autumn
• Element: Earth
• Thoughtful and frequently ponders
• Very kind and considerate
• Highly creative (arts and poetry)
• Overly preoccupied with tragedy and cruelty in the world
• More susceptible to depression
• Perfectionist and very particular
So, I’m somewhere between the two.
One time during a Literature class, we discussed how poets are more inclined to having a bipolar disorder, a condition where you get extreme highs and lows. Having read the part about melancholic, I am forced to conclude that poets or any type of artists are melancholic, otherwise known to every Bruneian as emo. I always knew I was a bit melancholic. In fact I’ve always tried to chalk my foul black moods as symptoms of depression or bipolar. People with bipolar personalities are usually hailed as geniuses due to their intellectuality, ya know :p Such examples are Winston Churchill, Virginia Woolfe and Sylvia Plath.
So, anyway, that’s enough ranting for today. If anyone is interested in discovering their own personality, here’s a website to do so: www.oneishy.com/personality/. Raihan and Yas, if you guys do it, post it up (: I will now proceed to downloading cheese and potato pie recipes. A sudden craving has been plaguing me since I watched an episode of Chef At Home yesterday. Go, I shall!
