It's 9.16 PM and I am thankful for several things. My aunt's three-day wedding has taken its course and is over and done with! Today was the most frantic, I have to say. I had to wake up early so I could fulfill my duty as the 'dian girl' which was actually quite interesting. The last wedding I went to was about, three years ago and believe it or not, I hadn't quite reach that mental state where I could absorb traditional customs well. Now, since I'm deeply involved in this particular wedding -- orang rumah kaliahhh -- I've become more aware of the whole thing, and I find it so fascinating! I think, when I get married, I would want to go all out and do the whole shebang! Blog partners, you're all invited! HAHA
After finishing my role ast the 'dian girl' I had to help out with the preparation of the food. I basically had to cling wrap everything, which sounds like a simple task enough. However, there was twenty three tables and some food, like the sambal goreng, had to be served two on each table. So, that's FOURTY SIX cling wraps. The rest were twenty three pieces, and after going through fourty-six dishes, with the sun beating heavily on your back and sweat dripping off your forehead like rainwater, it really started to get aggravating. It came to a point where I just tore off the cling wrap, scrunched it into a ball and ground it under my foot. But seeing my aunt looking so radiant and elated was well worth the effort (:
And oh.
I also had to wear a corset.
Girls, don't ever do it! It is PAINFUL. Bold and capital, people. It felt like my ribcage was constricted. Whenever I tried to breathe, I could feel my ribcage expanding only to a certain degree. I was half-completing the act of breathing the whole seven hours. I was also wearing four-inch heels which made the entire experience a mental and physical bloodbath, not literally of course. Sigh, the things we girls have to go through.
I also have a stats test tomorrow, permutation and combination. My duties have prevented me from studying for it. So, failure here I come. ):
A very sobered and oxygenated,
Akeela
