Sweat, nerves, huge crowd of smart individuals.
Check, check, check.
Today was the Senior Prepared Debate Competition and although my heart was ramming to its own erratic beat in my ribcage and I lost the trail of my speech for about ten seconds, I still got second place. The winner, our resident geek extraordinaire (and I do mean it affectionately) definitely deserved it. Kudos to Wee Kiat! I know this is sort of an expected loser speech but I'm really not that upset. I'd be lying if I said I'm not the teeniest bit disappointed but I feel good, I feel content. The ginormous multi-faceted trophy that glints in sunlight and is heavier than Anis and Wani put together definitely compensates for my being the first runner-up! I think that I owe this unconvincing graceful loser act to Miss Ani, who kind of delivered good news. I want it like I want Reese chocolates. Please make it happen, Allah.
Thanks to my awesome friends for their support and also for making the audi shake with the high decibels of their screams. I have nothing but heartfelt love for you guys :)
Truly satisfied and hoping no one is having fun at my expense,
Akeela
