So I'm back from my 8-day quarantine at Rizqun, for Bridging Minds, that is.
I'm not going to retell the entire experience here because there was just too much that happened and I find myself unable to articulate it well. It was an overwhelming ride and I feel like if I were to try and express it in words, I wouldn't be able to do it justice. So, for now, I will preserve my entire adventure in my mental vault.
I will tell you one thing though. BM certainly gave Kem Qiadah a run for its money! Although BM wasn't as physically challenging as KQ (though they were head to head in the sleep-deprived department), it was a mental headache, as well as a test to our immune system. Being cooped up at Rizqun 85% of the time led to some serious double F's: flu and fever. Nursing a runny nose and a giant headache (brought about by sleepless nights) while doing drama runs is not easy.
But the outcome was worth it. If you've read today's Borneo Bulletin (page 12) you would see that my team had won, hideous costumes whatnot. Congratulations to Liza for getting the Best Performer award. Keep it in Brunei :)
If somebody were to ask what was the best part of Bridging Minds, I'd say it was the people. Although we were awkward and aloof during the first few days, we managed to bridge (pun, yay!) our differences and establish a cammaraderie with each other, some closer and differen than others. We've been exposed to different outlooks and been through tough difficult times, all resulting in the hope that our skins have been thickened in the process. And for that alone, I would never wish the headaches, runny nose and crappy food away.
